Twitter for victory gardens pics called on account of all the grumbly skies (come on & rain already, I was beginning to think we’d never see temps. under 100 again).
  I have been pulling a few figs off the tree here and there in spite of the heat. I do so love the thrill of eating yummy, expensive flowers right from my yard.
  Yesterday while I dead headed the chives & generally cleaned up the jungle of the herb box, Mr. Punk Gardener pulled the bird netting from the berries & put it over the fig tree, but we still lost a few figs to the poor overheated hungry birds.
