Holiday Lights A GoGo

Tried taking some pics of Holiday yard art in the park, but no dice without a tripod. Sharing this one anyway for sheer trippiness.

Wow, that picture is way cool. How’d you do that?

Punk Gardener reply on December 26th, 2008:

Heh– just move at the wrong time when you should be doing a long exposure to compensate for bright lights at night ;)

Did you get any of those free Austin rain barrels they were giving away because of minor defects?

I’ve been looking for plastic barrels for you and have not seen any. I think the deer hunters buy them all up this time of year.

No, sadly we didn’t (it takes renting a car & a bit of scheduling for us to handle big projects like that), but we are planning out our rain barrels & self installed drip irrigation system now, so I’ll be ready for Spring gardening!

I know this sounds too stupid to be true but you can get the plastic barrels at a place called Barrel City. It’s south of town on I35 almost to Buda. They gaurantee ex food product barrels and they are about $10 a piece. Good luck with your project and aquisition of the barrels. Bob

@Bob Pool, Neato! Next time we’re doing a parts & supples run we’ll have to check them out. Great tip. Thanks!
