What’s your garden store?

Mine is in Pflugerville– an easy & scenic bike /trailer ride from my home on bike trails that meander thru parks & by streams. Gaddy’s is an old time, locally owned, non chain hardware, feed and garden store. If you are my age or a bit older you may remember stores like this from before the days of Home Depot. It has a little of everything, a lot of great plants & trees and a parrot in a cage by the register.
The gentlemen with the weathered Texas face & the battered cowboy hat will be able to give you great advice about soil and fertilizers for whatever your garden schemes are & he will then talk to you easily & engagingly about the West Texas Mystery Lights, UFOS , astronomy and how everything in the universe is connected.
I do so love Austin & the area around it for just these kinds of interactions.
Time well spent, ideas stimulated & some good gardening tips– what more could I want for a sunny lazy Saturday morning?

Glad to have you here :) Gaddy’s is very worth a visit–so cool to see a Mom & Pop gardening & hardware store surviving.
